10 years ago, in Summer 2008, ECP opened its doors to its very first students. Since then, we have published 108 books written by young people in Hong Kong, not to mention countless newspapers, magazines, and booklets from our holiday workshops.
We would like to thank all our students for the stories you have shared with us and your readers in Hong Kong and elsewhere; all our teachers and partners for helping to make ECP what it is today; all our ECP parents, friends and families for your continued support; and all of you for inspiring us every day to do this work that we love.
Our innovative curriculum guides writers through many different genres and skills and, over the years, we have expanded our core programme with leveled analysis and essay writing workshops–to grow with our students who see ECP as the place where they learn to think like writers and be writers, no matter what they’re writing about.
We are proud to have students who start with us when they are 4 or 6 and stay with us year after year, as well as those who say farewell for a short time but then come back to us in later years for more writing inspiration and support. It’s been amazing to see our writers grow up, and even more amazing to see how their love for writing endures as they go off to university and into the workforce. We look forward to growing our ECP community of young writers, deepening our relationships with our partners, and supporting more parents and educators to see the writer in every child.
