Overview
In these 3-hour author study workshops, students analyse the work of different children's books authors to uncover the essence of what makes them such amazing storytellers and what marks their distinctive styles. Once they figure out the key characteristics of each author's stories, they plan and create their own picture book stories, applying the techniques of the masters! Authors we'll study this year include Dr Seuss, Julia Donaldson, Mo Willems, Robert Munsch and Doreen Cronin. (Note: We will study a different author each day, so students can sign up for some or all of the workshops.)
