Halloween Writing Competition: Poetry Prize

Congratulations to 10-year-old Katrina Chan who has been awarded the Poetry Prize in the ECP Halloween Open Writing Competition!

Here’s her winning entry:

The Pumpkin Head

By: Katrina Chan

The Pumpkin Head,

The king of the dead,

The creature lurks under your bed.

He loves to eat,

Fresh children meat,

It really isn’t neat!

He will make you cry,

Until you die,

If you’ve ate a pumpkin pie.

His mean glare,

That scary stare,

Means you better beware!

The Pumpkin Head,

The king of the dead,

He is nightmare in all children’s head.
